Pulitzer Prize Winner
The year 2011 was the 100th anniversary of the birth of Tennessee Williams, one of the foremost playwrights of the 20th century. “Cat,” one of Williams’ best-known works, along with Streetcar Named Desire, won the Pulitzer Drama Award in 1955.  The play concerns a Southern family gathered to celebrate the birthday of Big Daddy, the family patriarch.  Son Brick and wife, Maggie the Cat, are having their problems and have so far produced no children, much to Big Daddy’s dismay.  The characters of this powerful drama are some of the most memorable in theater history.
